We will gather outside the office of Rep. Matt Cartwright (in case of inclement weather will go inside as space allows). On March 2, 2016, Berta Cáceres, a bold and visionary environmental and human rights leader in Honduras, was assassinated. We will gather to urge Rep. Cartwright to join with others in Congress calling for a suspension of U.S. military aid to Honduras until human rights violations are addressed. Organized by the Americas Solidarity Group of LEPOCO, we will deliver statements from several sister organizations in support of this effort. After our time with Rep. Cartwright’s staff we will walk through Easton’s Center Square area with leaflets and signs. Please join us. For more information call 610-691-8730.
